Tohatsu 3.5 hp 2 Cycle Gear oil refil problem

I drained the gear oil from the lower assembly of my Tohatsu 3.5 hp 2-cycle outboard. I removed the vent screw and the fill screw at the very bottom of the outboard. It drained fine. The, I tried to refill it (with the vent screw removed) and I can't get any oil into the gearbox. I tried squeezing the hell out of the gear oil container but to no avail. Any idea why it won't take the gear oil? Seems to be a vapor lock, but I have no idea what's wrong. Thanks.

Gearcases are filled using the DRAIN hole.-----Motor in normal running position.----Add oil to the bottom till it comes out the vent hole.-----Install vent plug.----Then remove filling device and install drain plug.

Yes, I did exactly what you said. The problem is the oil cannot go into the drain hole. It's like there's a vapor lock or something. I opened the vent hole to no avail.

That's your advice? Hurry to a shop? Does anyone else on this forum have an idea as to why the oil is bumping up against a vapor lock?
