i have a 25 tohatsu motor and it would start and idle fine but when you put it in gear it bogs down too the point of dying out. the plugs are new the external fuel filter is new seems to be getting good fuel out of the tank screen should be good in tank... pulled carb and cleaned wasn't dirty, float seemed to be working properly also.... after i put it back together it now will not idle real well.....dont know what else too do anybody have any solutions?

Check for a dry-rotted fuel line. My 9.8 was doing similar things and it turned out that the fuel line was rotted and sucking air. 6 months out of the store.

You did not mention model. I assume, since you did not describe 3 carbs, you have an old, premix, 2-cylinder, 2-stroke, such as the M25C2 or C3. The problem could be almost anything, but sounds a lot like a lean condition. 9 times out of 10, the problems you are describing are carb-related. If you did not submerge the carb in real carb dip (such as Tyme) for about 4 hours, it was not properly cleaned. Since the motor is behaving differently since you "cleaned" the carb, that would be a clue that something happened to change the way the motor runs. Whip out the Factory service manual, and go through the motor, paying particular attention to fuel and ignition.

after pulling the carb back apart today and going back threw it with cleaner and taking the main jet out i put it back on checked for cracked hoses and started messing with what i thought to be the idler on it for a minute on the hose i went to the river and i now assume that the thing i was messing with would have been the air fuel mixture because i have gotten almost all the bog out of just by adjusting that screw also yes it is a m25c2 and i would have refered too the manual but due too a flood three years ago that is no longer with me ... seems that i may have found my problem though... thanks for all the imput
