steering wheel found that stee

steering wheel found that steering shaft on front of motor appears to be stuck I took the nut loose where the cable attaches to motor turned the wheel cable housing slides back and fourth is there a way to fix this

"is it bent maybe? or has it been sitting for a while? maybe some penetrating oil-liquid wrench, wd40 something along those lines. probably wouldnt use steering wheel to try to free it, cables and helms pricy. maybe soak with penet. oil grab the motor try manual turning (without damaging rig or yourself), also mine has greese fittings on it may not help-cant hurt. good luck. anybody else have any suggestions?"

Look at removing

"Hi there,

Look at removing the whole cable from the boat, some makes are able to be serviced, IE the cable can be removed from the sleeve.

You might have to pull the motor to undo at transom.

Consider doing the helm too as a matter of course.

Maybe one of Ye Olde Sea Dawgs here have some advice as to which de-greaser and lube to use?
