(TJ90TLETS) VRO to a fuel pump

My VRO is leaking and when I removed the VRO I noticed a set of treads and bolt with a ring on the block right above the vacuum for the VRO. My question is can I mount a fuel pump there. It looks like that is what it is made for?

Yes there is a sopt on the intake manifold to mount a simple fuel pump.-----Plug the pulse port for the VRO.-----Remove the plug for the pulse port between those 10-24 threaded holes.-----Mount a 2 nipple pump there with the gasket.-----Install some hoses.

The pump I order was part number 438556. So gasket rides between the pump and the block that causes the vacuum. The black plastic end goes to the carbs and brass end is the intake for the fuel line? correct?

The black plastic (Filter Cover) connects to the fuel supply... incoming fuel hose.

The brass fitting leads to the carburetors, whatever.

Dumb question does it mount connectors up or down?

nipples face down.

Not that it matters, but the pointed section of the pump normally points upward.
