I am going to be replacing a rotted timing gear cover on a 2001 3.0 liter. I would like to leave the oil pan on as I have done with many SBC's over the yrs. I see that this set up is a bit different. I do believe that this motor has a one piece oil pan gasket as it is a 2001. Any thoughts or tips on this would be greatly appreciated. Also what do you use to keep the cover centered on the block as there are no alignment dowels?
