"I have a 87 Cari 2.3 liter, and would like to know if anyone knows the timming settings for my boat. It runs rough and boogs down off the hole. I checked all the ovious things. Thanks for all advice. Bob"
 
Timing on the 2.3 should be 10

Timing on the 2.3 should be 10 deg BTDC idle set at 600-650 RPM points at .018 or dwell 36 deg +- 2

Thanks for that info. Do you know if the idol is set at 1000 RPM's what the settings should be ? Does the drive have to be in gear ? Bob
