"Justin.... By any chance, are

"Justin.... By any chance, are you simply laying that bearing into the armature plate? The groove in that bearing...... the plate is to be inserted within it, then the armature plate onto it."

"no im not, but upon closer in

"no im not, but upon closer inspection ive found wait for it the top bearing sticks out about 5 mm more from crank case than the old one the rebuilt engine is slightly diffrent to my old engine everything else fitted ok thinking about carefully cutting 5mm of it with cut off wheel unless you have another idea dont want to pull the whole thing apart again unless i can remove the bearing and swap it only help please thanks justin"

"You'll need to translate

"You'll need to translate that 5mm into inches for me. I have no idea what measurement 5mm is.

If the powerhead is the same crankcase (block) as is the top bearing, I could only assume that the bearing has not been aligned with the alignment pin which secures it in place."

hi sorry its more like 3/16 ta

hi sorry its more like 3/16 taller the seal is on the sealing suface in same position as old bearing seal what im wondering is it appears to be that the bear is positioned right in the hole just that it is longer on the outside where the timing plate mounts one other difference with block is exhaust plate on side of engine has only one plate instead of two is this a newer block than mine ? thanks justin

Yes it is a newer block. When

Yes it is a newer block. When ever this occurs you usually end up with an " oops that won't work ". Who rebuilt this motor and what warranty / assurance did you get that it " is the same " as what you had.

it came frome a marine place i

it came frome a marine place in australia im in new zealand this is the only part that hasnt been right im going to get an engineer after covering the top seal etc carefully to cut the difference of the top of the bearing with a cut off wheel the seal is still in right place i think the later electrics maybe slightly diffrent everything is fine and works anyone with any warnings for me please speak now it happens on saturday new zealand time thanks justin

not trimming bearing now found

not trimming bearing now found easier and probly the correct answer stator alloy plate has 3 alloy bosses to support stator just going to get the depth of the bearing hole changed by 3mm to allow it to sit on the engine properly as these bosses protrude into bearing hole and are partially machined out to give clearance for the bearing thanks every one for help some problems you just need to look at to sort out thanks justin
