"Just changed over to electron

"Just changed over to electronic distributors. After the initial setup, we checked the advance at 3200-3400 rpms and found that we were getting to 32 degrees and pinging.

I have searched but cannot find a new timing curve.

In addition, the distributor specs state 20 degrees at 3000 for a SB Chrysler.

Can anyone enlighten me as to what the MAXIMUM advance should be and at what rpm?

Any and all help will be appreciated.

Thank you.

"It's 26 degrees TOTAL on

"It's 26 degrees TOTAL on my '85 M360s. That means 5 degrees initial, plus 21 in the distributor.

What counts is that you have 26 degees TOTAL--the initial is irrelevant. And remember, the motor runs near full advance most of the time.
