Timing adjustment

I have a 1990 force 120. I want to check timing but my flywheel does not have degree marks at all. How can make sure its set up properly. Please help. I dont know anything about timing. I dont have any timing tools or anything like that. I haven't taken the flywheel off but I have rotated it by hand. It going through this entire motor and making sure everything is proper

You sure the flywheel doesn't have marks??
The marks are 3 small slash marks and further around is a single hash mark.
The single is for finding TDC(top dead center)

You might want to get a little paintbrush and just put a touch of paint on all three marks whatever your favorite color is as far as timing you have top dead center and then you have advanced timing based on your manual you need to check and see what degrees is your advanced timing and it does help to have a timing light otherwise you really can't do it and depending on what you had done to your motor it's always good to time the engine for maximum performance

Whatever works usually the middle hash mark is your top dead center the one to the left of center Mark advanced timing the one to the right below top dead center check the manual for settings good luck

So you're telling me the three hash marks the center Mark is not the TDC and the one to the left is advanced timing and the hatch Mark to the right is not before top dead center okay my bad I had a 175 force thought that was top dead center thanks for the info

Hey Jerry that was a typo it was supposed to say 125 I didn't even look that's what happens when you get to be 68 years old eyes don't work as good as they used to I replaced the wire harness on it it was a three carb ran good on my bass boat
