Hello!
Sorry if my english is bad but I need an answer only to this question: What should the timing be on a 1990 2-stroke Evinrude 6hp outboard (model 6resr)? I have Evinrude repair manual but i didn´t find those degrees there.

This engine is fully rebuilt and I have tried to follow the instructions of the manual. It says: "Check the timing using a timing light. With the throttle valve at or near a closed position, adjust the idle spark stop (a slotted screw on the side of the powerhead, just below the flywheel, which secures a slotted bracket) and slide the bracket as necessary to achieve a proper idle timing..." I have thought that this slotted bracket should be exactly in right position because it determines the adjustment of the throttle cable?"

Idle timing - adjust that slot

Idle timing - adjust that slotted bracket to contact the roller when rotating throttle where the butterfly just starts to open when the two imbossed raised marks are in line with the roller. Hard to explain but you are on the right track.
