"Ok, Last night had a big rain

"Ok, Last night had a big rain storm and woke up this morning to prep the boat to go to the lake. I find my Tilt/Trim motor running to the down position for who knows how long and the battery on the boat is about dead when I get it disconnected. Now I learned something, dont leave the batteries connected, got it. But what the hell is going on? Why would the T/T just auto stick or short in the down position? It has 3 switches, one on the motor that has it's own connector and relay. The other 2 are remote switches on the boat. One on the shifter and one on the bow of the boat. 1996 Cajun bass boat w Evinrude intruder 150 FYI. When I disconnect the remote trim switch the down trim motor shuts off and the trim switch on the motor itself was able to relieve the pressure and make the motor go up and down as normal. Now when I plug the remote switch back into the harness the trim motor starts to try and go down again and you cant stop it unless u disconnect the plug again or remove the relay. I tried swapping relays already to see if it was a stuck relay no dice still same issue. JWB or Joe any thoughts on this one? Can I piggy back the remote trim feed wires right onto the same plug as the one on the motor trim switch if I needed to?"

"u will be lucky,if your tnt mtr is not fried...the rain, would be the culprit,...in one or more,of your switches."

"mine acted similar, got water

"mine acted similar, got water in the switch but didnt run over night was a wave when i was anchored out and it just kicked in, i replaced it with on-off-on adn it was fixed. as far as piggy back(off main relay) i did on the stern so i could hook up my transom saver by myself and havent had any probs they make a lil rubber boot for toggle sw.s to keep water out."

"i installed one of those,on a lil alum boat,w/a small new tnt bracket...after a rain, tnt was working,...soo,i wont use the reg sw any more, for that application...what i do now is inst the sealed tnt sw thats made for exposure to moisture...i did have the rubber boot on his to."

"Thats what i figured. Well I

"Thats what i figured. Well I guess its time to buy a switch, The tnt motors r fine however they still go up and down with no problem as long as the 2 remote switches r disconnected from the second relay harness. Can I just piggy back them on the motor relay if I need to? Or should I use the secondary one for safety? Any suggestions on switch replacements?"

"all your switches,are wired i

"all your switches, are wired in,..to one place...your relay assm...thru associated wiring."
