"i recently aquired a boat/mot

"i recently aquired a boat/motor/trailer for free. thats right FREE!!!! a friend heard about my 15ft tri-hull being rotted to the bone, and gave me a boat that had been robbed of it's running engine for another boat. he gave me a johnson 115 and told me "good luck." it has good compression (130, 127, 131, 126) I tried to actuate the tilt/trim and it's stuck. it squirts fliud from the ram when actuating. i know i will need to reseal the ram, but how do i get this thing down so i can mount it. and where do i get a re-seal kit for the ram. i googled a few phrases, and nothing comes up. engine model number is *115799s*"

"Mike,
Since it is much easie

"Mike,
Since it is much easier to remove the trim pump with the motor off the boat this is the time to take it out if you have the model I think you have.
If this is the model that is in the center of the transom mount,if you install the motor on the boat you will need to support the motor and remove one side of the transom mount in order to get the pump out.
This can be dangerous if you do not have the correct lift for holding the motor while removing the pump.

If this is a center mounted pump there should be a screw on the right side of the pump as you are looking at it from the rear that will allow the ram to move down when it is opened a turn or so.

If the ram still will not move down my guess is you will need to take the unit apart and find just what is holding it in the up position.

Good luck."
