Tilt Trim

Replaced tilt trim motor now wont go up past trim unless manual helping it while holding up button and manual release dose not work but is closed motor dose not leak down once is up. 2003 200hp evinrude

Seems to be good, with it off the boat all rams go up in down put unit back on boat with load of motor will go up to trim but then won't tit up on the center ram with out help from me pushing up on motor

With the T/T disconnected from the mtr can you pick the mtr up and can you run it easily through its full range ??

What did you mean by manual release valve doesn't work ?? Post # 1.

Can't open it to manual lift and lower the motor

Time to buy a new one. They sometimes solve a lot of problems.

Was thinking about taking tilt ram apart to see if it's air locked and filling it with fluid

Good idea. You may find a bad seal or some broken pieces in it.

Why did you replace the motor ?-----------Did you confirm that old motor was bad ??

Yeah the wires wore and shorted out
