Proline 211 97 5.7L A1 Repaired binding cylinders and they work as expected now except the trim gauge, which was working, is now constantly showing full up, and the down limit doesn't stop the trim pump motor. I didn't have time to get into this today and don't seem to have a procedure for adjustment. I bleed the air and measured fully extended and retracted as 26" and 17". I think the potentiometer is on the right and the limit, on the left standing behind the drive.
would you guys share a link to a good procedure and straighten an old guy out on how to set this up? I have a John Fluke if necessary. Thanks

there is no "down limit" , at full down the sound of the pump is different. "trim up" is on a limit switch. pucks should be marked "trim limit or TL"
and "trim sender or TS"

I have learned a lot and had a laugh or two with some of the action on this site. your replies to my problem and the link started me wondering what I had missed and pointed out some things I wont soon forget. The devil is in the details. In this case I had not realized the ignition switch had to be on and that there was no down limit, so the laugh was on me. I have read a lot about the solenoids not working etc. The problem with mine was salt water and corrosion binding the aluminum caps and the shafts. At this point all is well and so off to the next problem. Steering mechanism. Thank you for the help.
