96 mercury 40hp 4 cylinder model 0G265924 got the piston rod off but can't seem to get the end plate off so I can put the new scrapper and 0 rings in(mine doesn't have a bolt on the end).I tried lightly with a vice and wood but wouldn't budge, is there a special tool for this...don't want to damage the end plate...also googled and found nothing on this.
