Tilt/trim removal help.

I need to replace the trim motor on my 1989-90 Johnson 70. In this particular model the whole tilt/trim unit has to be removed in order to replace the motor. The pin through the tilt cylinder ram and side plates will not come out. I have soaked it with penetrating oil to no avail. I have smacked it hard, short of a sledge hammer. The circlips are removed.
I would appreciate any help from someone who has been through this before with success.

On those stubborn ones I've always used an oxy/acy torch. Just be careful.

Where would you apply the heat? I have a propane torch, is that hot enough? The motor is totally absent of any gas or fumes. Been sitting for a year.

Around the out side of the pin. Don't heat the pin. Get a brass drift and a BFH.

I applied heat with a MAP torch, and beat the hell out of it with a sledge, and it won't move. Don't know what to do now! It is a shame because everything else on the motor is in great shape.

Try the oxy/acy torch. It's a lot hotter. Let us know what happens.
