tilt trim/ and throttle

Hi all again, I need some advise and help on a couple of things, one being is there an adjustment on the throttle cable so I don't have to push the lever so far ahead before it will engage and have to put on a lot of pressure to get it to run full throttle( size below).
next question is I have been looking for a tilt/trim lift for my 1976 85hp merc outboard motor, lots on ebay but I have no idea where to start and know what unit will work with this motor. It never did have one installed, Being it is an older unit I can't see putting a new one on but I'm not that young anymore and to try lift that out of the water when I'm alone in the boat is getting harder all the time. I also want to thank all of you guys for your help awesome help.

An aftermarket tilt and trim is your best bet for that motor. A CMC PT 130 would work very well for your motor. The problem with the factory tilt and trim for that motor is it's an obsolete design. Another thing parts availability for those units is getting scarce and getting one to working condition could cost more than a brand new CMC unit. As far as the throttle goes you could have a stretched cable get a a manual and follow the instructions on adjusting them.
