Raises all the way up & no problem going down, problem is when it is up it gradually goes down. Hydrolic fluid is full and see no leaking. What parts do I need to replace? I cannot find a tilt and trim kit for the 88 125-4X8A force motor.

its your valve body that causes bleed down. chinese versions are new to market this year and on ebay for under $150. I don't think the chinese one is going to last nearly as long as the original on your 125HP. The chinese ones are cloned from the 89-91 design which had a problem with aluminum stretching under back pressure on the 120-150Hp engines. The chinese aluminum is noticebly softer than the US alloy and the problem can only be worse than original. I think 5 years is a safe bet. 10 would be lucky and 15 years out of chinese valve body would make me think that you never use your boat. A rebuild of your existing ( i assume it has retaining rings) valve body will side step this issue but not save you too much money. So you have two repair options and need to balance new-cost-longevity-&lead time to pick to option most suited to your needs.

But - its the valve body that cause bleed down.
