tilt problem

50hp evenrude 1996 model. power tilt will go up but not go down ,lift weight of engine from tilt ram and it will power down any help appreciated

Have you checked the oil level in it ??

has plenty of oil. manual release is working ok opens for bypass and closes for electro hydraulics operation.does the manual release valve have any other use besides b/pass for manual release operation.
