im not sure how to explain this . so bare with me please . i have this 62 model johnson RKL-24 40 horse . the problem im having is the tilt braket seems to be worn out . there is a small pin that run's across the braket that has a spring type wire that goes up something like a locking wire . well that rod is worn out and so is the main pin that holds the motor to the tilt . when i tilt the motor up this spring pull's the pin out of the spot and it doesnt stay in . im thinking maybe the tilt braket is worn out from use .
