My Omc stringer I/O will down but not up. When I manually lift it and remove the tilt quadrant, the spur gear moves both ways. Once the tilt quadrant is on, it will move down but not up.
I checked the motor and replaced it although it was still working. Checked the spur gear and noticed the end plastic piece is the I’m thing missing from the shaft. There seems to be a little play where the spur gear is and I’m not sure if that’s what’s causing it to bind up.
Batteries are good, solenoids are good. Not sure why the motor moves it up and down without the quadrant on but once it’s on, it won’t come up. Any ideas?
