Tilt and trim

I have a 1995 125 hp Mariner I need a new plug for the tilt and trim fluid reservoir my plug is black I ordered one on MarineEngine.com in which is a yellow plug and it said it was replaced by the black plug. So my question is has anyone had this situation and replaced the black plug to the yellow plug and it fit. Or should I continue looking for a black plug. Thank you for any info.
 
Yo - the only thing that matters is the diameter, threads per inch or thread pitch. You can remove your old plug and verify it's correct by placing the treads of one plug against the other plug - so use the one plug and fit the other plugs threads into the grooves of the other plug and they should pretty much mesh together with little to no gaps in the two plugs threaded areas
 
The black and yellow fill plugs will interchange. The reason they switched the color was to quickly identify a trim motor/ pump design change around 1997-1998 and up.
