tilt and trim problems

Need Help!!! I rebuilt may tilt and trim unit and now it wont work like it should. It goes up fine but it will not hold the motor up it bleeds back down as soon as you let off of the switch. I went by the shop manuel when i put it back to together. Any ideas?

What manual do you have ?? Is the manual relief valve tight ??

I have the johnson 150 shop manual i bought from a dealer. Yes may relief valve is tight i thought the same thing.

Go to the trouble shooting section of your manual for the T/T and you may find an answer there. The manual relief valve may also be bad.

I should have asked this before, but what's the model # of your motor ?? Duh.......
