tilt and trim issue with silinoid??

Hey all, I have a 1984 Seaswirl, 3.0L GM Stinger drive. I got 4 silonoids on the side for the tilt and trim. The tilt and trim were working fine last weekend till all of the sudden when I hit the tilt switch I get s "click" "click"....then when I turn the ignition on and hit the trim on my throttle it makes a slightly lower...tone sounding "click" "click".....Everything worked fine...now I get clicks.....I ordered 2 new siloniods and replaced the top 2....no change....I checked all the grounds, everything seems good..........Any suggestions?????

Check your tilt trim motor plug. Also there is an assembly that fits at the base of the motor shaft. You have to remove the motor. It has a spring, and two interlocking parts that drive power from the motor shaft to the tilt trim assembly. If the spring breaks or either of the two interlocking drivers that could cause your problem. Or the tilt trim assembly it self. Hope this helps....Island Boy
 
So you have the trim that moves the motor up and down, and of course the tilt that moves the drive up and down.

Ok they are 2 different systems.

My first move would be is to check the battery. If the battery is not fully charged you will get what you have clicking.

Post back after you check the battery and cables.

Then we can work together to go thru your 2 systems one at a time.
 
Found it Chief, the dang fuse was fried but I couldnt tell till I REALLY looked hard at it......what size fuse should I have in there...when I put 50 amps I burn up s ton of them???

50A is the correct fuse.
If it is blowing, you have a problem somewhere. Don't put a larger fuse.
 
maybe the tilt mechanicals are frozen, or the trim. open up the clutch housing, or remove the half moon gear see if the tilt little gear moves when you hit the switch,
 
My tilt doesn't seem to go down. I removed the electric motor and two springs came off of it. I just wanted to know how to put it back? Now the tilt doesn't go up or down.
