Working on a friends 5.7 1997 4bbl with thunderbolt V (NO KNOCK SENSOR). Alpha 1 Gen II
One of the white with green stripe wire coming from the module connector is the one that goes to the shift interrupter switch.
He says when the switch is connected properly that the motor will not start and if disconnected and the mater is started and is running once reconnected while running the motor runs terrible.
Has anyone experienced this condition and if so what where your findings?
So far all I have confirmed is the interrupter switch is working properly using a digital ohm meter. It is open as it should be and closes when the arm is moved. (Old style interrupter switch with long arm and roller)
I have not checked the wiring harness yet for possible shorts but could this be a sign of a faulty timing module?
