"got an old 77 115hp merc that hasn't been run in 5 yrs. i replaced the impellor, plugs, and was getting ready to change the cap/rotor/wires when i ran into trouble getting the rotor off. ended up busting it off to find out it wasn't made to come off.

now what are my options?"

I guess your learning the hard way....
You can either remove the whole distributor and disassemble it to replace the rotor and button assy or even easier still and probably cheaper would be to get a second had distributor complete. Shoud be pretty cheap on ebay.
Those rotors/caps shouldn t be replaced unless they are faulty.

very expensive mistake...they should have a big warning sign on that puppy saying clean only!"
