"Got a 92 Checkmate 202 br with 350 mag. the boat has thru hull exhaust but had some kind of retarded baffles in the tips (almost positive they are aftermarket).. The baffle come out with one bolt and this thing sounds wimpy with them in.. My question is: does this mercruiser set up require those for back pressure? or will it overheat on my ass and run like crap if i take them off? these are kind of retorical questions but i would like another opinion before i remove them. i was thiking that the manifolds should provide the correct back pressure for this engine, am i right?"

"Ayuh,... Their Not mercruiser

"Ayuh,... Their Not mercruiser....

It shouldn't be a problem removing them,...
Just keep a look out for a Lean condition...
Might have to tune the carb..."

Remove them and let it RIP

"Hi Guys,
Just reading your responses to Robert's question, I noticed yesterday that when I've got mine switched over to through hull it sounds fantastic but never seems to run as sweet....could that be down to mixture? (91 350 Mag)

Cheers

Mark"
