Through transom exhaust?

New to forum and OMC outdrives so sorry if this is a dumb question, but its it possible to run the exhaust through the transom on an 800 Stringer outdrive?
 
Sure, You'll need to block the holes in the down tube. Get the kind with external flaps.The other with the flaps in the tube don't seem to last as long or work as well. Depending on the heigth of the port compared to the water.Too close and water gets back into the motor.
 
not if you have selectrim. The engine tips relative to the transom for trimming.

Just tell people you have a large penis through implications in general day-to-day conversation - cheaper than thru-hulls
 
Thanks for the info, I was just wondering if the drive needed the water flow from the exhaust. It does have a separate trim control, but if I leave enough slack in the exhaust hose I think it will work.
 
Sorry about the post, For some reason I was thinking Cobra. You can turn the riser around and add a piece of hose and a couple of elbows. This will allow for the bending of the hose. I saw it done on an older OMC, not pretty but it worked.
