I've searched high and low around the internet and this forum and can't find an answer to my question.
I have a brand new 2020 Mercury 20EPT outboard (fuel injected, electronic trim, remote steering) but I do not have any of the controls yet. I bought the motor from a dealer directly for a boat I am building thus nothing has been installed yet and I don't have any accessories.
The boat is a Glen-L Squirt which was designed in the 50s so I want a specific look for the throttle and shift controls. I am looking to buy the Dometic SeaStart MT3 Single Control (model CH5310P) or one that has a similar look. These all use the "universal" 33C style linkages.
Will this work with my motor assuming I buy a 33C cable? I have read somewhere that Mercury uses a specific type of linkage and the universal style cables will not work. However, I don't know if this is only if you use a Mercury throttle control or if the linkage is proprietary on the outboard end of the cable as well.
