Throttle position sensor

I have a 2021 Mercury 250XL sea pro and yesterday it won't idle up and the gauge says critical throttle control. Going to replace the throttle position sensor. Anybody have a good picture of where they are located.

Strongly suggest you don't start replacing parts before you know what the issue is, this can create more problems.

You have a drive by wire and it uses a CAN buss to communicate with PCM. It could be a bad connection and need to scan motor for codes

What is the engine serial number?

TPS could very well be integrated with the throttle body assembly.

the SN is 3B011090

Looks to be a throttle body with a TPS included.

As boscoe mentioned the TPS is part of the throttle body (ITEM 8) part number 8M0222358

There should be a test in the applicable service manual for the TPS.

Voltage in and voltage out at different throttle settings.

I have all the manuals for the 2023 250 Verado (not 2021) include the Diagnostic manual 8M0182076 for your motor.
They require codes to determine how. I don't see anything for simple meter testing other than resistance test. Either way need to know what the error is to be able to see where to go look
