Throttle issue

I have a nissan 4 hp 4 stroke. I was on the lake the other day and stopped to fish. When I started back up I could hear a couple misfires and then it died. It took me several mins to get it running again but it sounded normal. Normal all except for the throttle. I can increase throttle quite abit more than before. It used to stop me or max out at the rabbit symbol and now goes way past that symbol. The rpm's also increase along with it. I have no idea what happened.

A misfire "pop" at the carb is usually due to an overly lean condition (might need a little more choke in that case). The throttle grip is designed to twist about 120 degrees total. If it was not going that far before (say only 45 degrees of twist), something may have been blocking the throttle mechanism. Is this an NS4B? If so, it's probably in warranty. Might not be a bad idea to have your dealer take a look at it to make sure the throttle cables are properly adjusted and actuating fully.
