I just had a new 150 4 stroke installed with all new controls. Here's my question. After install during first run, the console mounted binacle throttle handle hit the dash before wot could be achieved. Took it back to dealer, who advised the only way to adjust it was to loosen the throttle handle, rotate it back a notch, and reinstall. Now the throttle arm does not line up with the neutral spot on the binacle, but halfway between neutral and reverse. Now my forward wot throttle is fine, with handle stopping about an inch from dash, but reverse is limited by throttle hitting the dash, not that I need the full reverse throttle anyway.
Dealer says this was the only solution, but I have my doubts. Is this a lazy way to fix the issue instead of really adjusting the throttle cables?
