Got a 1986 mercury V6 inboard that was completely rebuilt

engine cranked and ran smooth but had steam coming out of exhaust

got water hooked direct to lower water inlet hose

with water ruining and engine not all six cylinder are filling with water ?????

did you check the exhaust elbows while things were apart?

what happened to cause the need for the complete rebuild?

My original engine froze and cracked

Bought this engine complete but not put together.

I was wrong water only coming in all 3 cylinders on left side looking from front of engine

either cracked block,heads,blown out head gasket and those are 2,4,6

Found problem, Leak in riser gasket.
