Just wondering is my model outboard has a thermostat as I bet it has never been checked or replaced...

It looks like you should have a thermostat in your engine, Part number 75692 THERMOSTAT (143).

OK, I am guessing that this has never been checked or replaced in this engine. Should I check it? Whats the procedure, do I just remove part #34 as in the diagram? Will I need a new gasket (#33)?

DO NOT attempt to remove that exhaust plate or you may snap off a bunch of those stainless bolts (that are a dog to drill out). If the thermostat is screwed up you have no choice, but I advise you to leave it alone for now.
