I'm having an over heating issue on my starboard side 82 Crusader 220 raw water cooled engine. I pulled my two thermostat housings this weekend and replaced the gaskets and pressure relief valves and thermostats. Now, I'm a little confused about the location of the thermostat. When I pulled them apart I thought the thermostat was located where the Red arrow is, under the housing on top of the intake manifold. Now after looking at this drawing, it appears the the thermostat should have been between the two housing sections where the green arrow is.

Hoping someone can confirm the location for me before I ruin my engines. I'm also going to pull my circulating pump to take a look at the fins. FYI... I did replace the impellers on both raw water pumps and they are pushing water out the exhaust just fine.
Thanks, J
