testing CD unit

I need the procedure for testing the cd unit on a 25 hp sea pro 2008

I don't have the manual either. Should be available from any Mercury Marine dealer.

In a majority of cases there is no direct testing of a CDI box. Box is first tested for outputs. If below specification the inputs to the box are tested. If inputs are substandard, fix the input problem. If inputs meet specifications the box is presumed to have an internal defect. Which in most cases requires the unit to be replaced.
