I had no spark at all so i replaced the optical eye sensor and the power pack. I tested the stator before changing both componets per the the manual, except I do not have a multimeter that reads the peak output voltage, or a DVA. The resistance of the stator per the manual was suppose to be 50-60 ohms between the two orange leads. It said nothing about the brown leads.
The paperwork that came with the new CDI power pack says 50-60 ohms between orange leads and 450-600 ohms between browns.*I have no resistance between brown pair, however there is no short to ground on any lead.
Long story short, I still have no spark, on any cylinder.
I have seen ways to build a DVA on outboard forums but they all look pretty scetchy. anyone have better plans?

I checked all grounds and isolated ignition switch.

Why don't you just get the proper meter, has to be cheaper than throwing parts at it.

I have a freind that loaned me the power pack that he had in stock at his store. He is not a OMC dealer but endend up with that CDI powerpack and sensor. I paid $50 all of it. Sadly he does not have a brand new 50 dollar stator laying around.
What would the proper meter be? Im sure i could order one online and wait 3 days just to test it, and another 3 for a stator. But id rather build a DVA here at work and go home and test it tonight, fix it tomorrow and be on the water friday..

thanks for the input
