Temperature/oil level horn does not sound

Hi: I have a 2002 ProCraft F&S boat w/2002 mercury 115HP 2 cycle OB. It has a dash mounted ignition key start switch. The temperature/oil level horn does not sound when starting the engine. Hanging under the dash is a red device shaped like the cap on a can of WD-40 w/2 wires coming out of it. The wires attach to two other wires via male/female spade connectors. Is this the horn? Does anyone have a part number for it? Thanks in advance.

The red horn in this ad is what it looks like. http://www.ebay.com/itm/98-YAMAHA-X..._Watercraft_Parts&hash=item3cc0c007dc&vxp=mtr

haventaclue: Thanks but that one's decription says it is for 135-150 HP V-.6 and can't seen to see that under the dash. I just replaced the tach so it is not on the back of the gauges.

With the ignition on I disconnected the temperature switch and grounded the tan/blue wire to the starter ground cable and no alarm sounded.

http://motors.shop.ebay.com/Parts-Accessories-/6028/i.html?_nkw=Horn+quicksilver .Had a wee look around.Anything like any of these? There's one there says from 40HP to 125HP.
I was thinking Mercury probably used the same warning horn for a lot of different motors.
If that horn in the pic you posted is from a bike, maybe someone did a makeshift job.But I doubt it.It is a warning module that is mass produced that may be used for the same function in Marine,Bike or auto applications. That's a guess.Maybe the boat builders used a load from Japan:D:D.

I must have been sleeping, didn't see your post.Faulty horn?? Break in the wire from the block?

Apparently it's a break in the wire or faulty horn. I'll remove it tomorrow and test it and check the circuit from the engine to the dash. It appears any 12 volt horn/buzzer can be used since the one under the dash is a generic brand...cheap as all get out...ProCraft installed or a cheap previous repair.

I now know why a cheap one was installed...new merc. alarms can be near $100!

It is now working but was not wired to the key switch like the throttle mounted horn...there is no module in the circuit. The tan/blue wire circuit from the engine was working, so was the horn. But the 12 volt source for the horn did not come on w/the engine off and key switch on. I traced it into the harness that goes to the engine and had nothing but there was 12 volts on the engine end of the harness. I couldn't reach a harness plug behind the throttle which is where I think the problem is located. The 12 volt source may only come on when the engine is running but I don't think so...will check the wire when it is idling next time. I installed a new 12 volt source to the horn on one side...the other side is connected to the tan/blue wire. I grounded the sender wire on the engine and the horn sounded. I know it works now but won't have a key switch test beep at startup unless I tap into the start circuit but then it will set off the O/heat/low oil horn whenever the starter is running.

I added a small PB switch for testing the temp/oil alarm under the edge of the dash next to the keyswitch.
