Temperature Alarm

Issue is: temp gauge goes up to 200 d. F. after 2-3 minutes of idling. Replaced water pump and impeller recently, still having temp issue. High temp alarms sounds. I turn off motor couple of minutes, start back up and take off, temp goes down to normal, alarm stops. What's causing this please? I thank you for your input. RJ in NC.

incorrect impeller replacement
clogged exaust riser/elbow
unless this is water injection on a turbine, or a diesel, or a boat engine ,etc.

FWC or raw?
New problem? i.e., did it ever run right while you owned it?
What got done to the engine before this ?
Drive type????
