Temp gauge M40D2

I have a M40D2 from 2006 and am looking to install a temp gauge. On the head there is a threaded hole for a sensor but does anyone know what thread it is?

The factory overheat sensor is NLA. Maybe an aftermarket metric unit could be adapted.
