"te70tlce, the reason i'm asking is,when i replaced the thermostat,impeller(it was all in a kit) it came with a grommet to replace the the factory one, the hose from the telltale hose is 3/16, also i relocated the telltale to the top of the block"

"Increasing the hose and I presume nipple outlet will change the opening characteristic of the pressure valve. For the valve to open at designed rpm and pressure, keep the original size.
Remember that the water passes the tell tale BEFORE it goes into the cylinder cooling channels, and whatever water passed out reduces the cooling capacity."
