Teleflex Tachometer (rpm gauge) problem

I have Honda Teleflex Tach part# 37253-ZW5-000ZB. I recently started having an issue where the needle will not go past the 2k mark however I have full power at the motor. Also when I rev it up to 2k then back back the needle "hangs" on to 2k even though I have returned to idle for a good 3-5 seconds before the needle returns to idle readings.
I messed with the pole settings, and cleaned all the connections, no luck. Any ideas?

Here is a pdf that outlines teleflex tachometer troubleshooting. It is very possible, that the tach just has some internal mechanical issues. The technical term would be.....the needle is stuck.

Try tapping on the glass of the tach with your finger and see if it moves any. If so, then that is probably the problem and you just have to buy a new tach.

Thanks Honda dude, yep that was the issue, I beat on it for awhile and now it seems to work fine. But sounds like its on its way to crap town.
