Tack Leeds syncing 85 HP Evinrude 1979

So I'm syncing my motor and bought an automotive tack/dwel meter to check the RPM but don't know where to hook the leads

Can't be done as far as I know. You need a tachometer that operates off of the charging system.

I figured it out but had to divide by 2 because I Was on an 8 cylinder scale one lead to ground and one to the terminal block,I'll have to look tomorrow and see what screw I used
