Thanks Mike i rechecked ground

Thanks Mike i rechecked ground and it looks clean and secure.i know how to use a mutimeter just not sure how to test tachometer.. where to put the probes.. Thanks

your gauge also could of crapped out as well. i accidentally hooked the tach wire improperly and now mine starts at 6000 and redlines at 2000 ha ha. am gonna buy a set of new teleflex gauges.

"Put multimeter on the back of the tach and measure volts across +12 and grnd terminals.
Then check volts between grnd on the meter and a known good ground..should be zero.

If you see +12 in the first test and zero in the second, most likely your tach is fried.

The innards of the tach convert a series of pulses into a voltage that the meter displays as RPM. There is no in the field test."
