after getting the unit unlocke

after getting the unit unlocked put new motor on now the unit sounds like its got soap it it no raising or lowering just motor turning have in full up position but not doing nothing even though when put fresh fluid in at first it went bown then started up this sqishing sound started should i rebuild whole unit or does any one have one for sale 1990 johnson 200hp

"The unit may need more than one refilling process. Engine in full tilt up position, fill reservoir to overflowing, replace reservoir screw plug. Attempt tilt operations.

If still no go (assuming that the manual release valve is indeed closed), the usual problem is an air lock under the oil pump, see the following.

Engine in full tilt position. Remove reservoir fill plug screw. Insert a air nozzle up against the reservoir fill hole with rags (or something) packed around it to obtain a tight fit. Apply just a slight amount of pressurized air (10 psi resommended) to the reservoir. This will force the oil under the oil pump to remove the air lock. DO NOT go crazy with the air pressure (15 psi tops!)
