System Check hot/overtemp light on when fast start sensor turns on or grounded

got a strange one for you!
System check hot light turns on when engine reaches 100 degrees F approx and engine goes in SLOW MODE.
the hot sensors are not closed.
engine heads are cool to touch 110 degrees max with laser thermometer. no thermostats installed.
when white with black stripe wire port sensor is unplug, hot light goes off.

any suggestions?

Actually referring to OMC Quick start white/black stripe wire causing the hot light and SLOW mode on port sensor.
