"Can anyone give me any info on this particular model of sterndrive? It came on a 99 Reinell 18.5,with a 4.3 gm v-6.This boat was sunk and I bought it for the engine core and accessories.I was looking for a number such as the 270-280 legs have for identification,but found none.I am curious as to it's strengths and or faults,and also how it measures up,when compared to it's predesessors.And is it a "290"? I have an older boat with a 270 on it but don't know anything about the transitions,and how and when they changed.If anyone knows of a link that might give me a history lesson on these drives,It would be much appreciated.thanks for your time and info,Kerry Grant."
