"Bought a parts P50 to get my enduro 60 to run, but ran into some complications:
specs:
1988 Enduro 60. elec and pull start, remote kit, the lower ring gear is missing teeth and ate the side of the case on the lower leg bulb. Output shaft bearing is toast. 6K5
1991 P50 with power trim, elec start, tiller handle and self oiler. missing carbs, and some other electrical stuff. 6H5
observations:
- Input shaft (vertical) has different spline counts and diameter between the 60 and the 50.
- lower leg case 10% smaller on the 50 than the 60.
- different exhaust outlets between 50 and 60 lower end
- carbs can't be swapped: different hole size / bolt pattern.
the questions:
i'm trying to hybrid these two engines into one working one. It seems that the 50 likely has a shorter stroke than the 60, as well as a different carb layout, so swapping this stuff into the 50 to make it work may not be ok. (ideas?)
ideally, i'll swap over the working 60 power head on to the 50 base. any feedback on this concept?
thanks in advance"
