"i need to swap my 302 ford merc cruiser for another one, i need some advise, i have a 1972 24` sea ray, with a merc cruiser outdrive, do i need to remove the outdrive,& if so should i remove it in 2 parts, any info or tips or tricks on this would be great thanks, terry"

"to remove motor you pull the 2 long bolts out of the rear gimbal housing mounts (1/2 NC bolts - 3/4 socket), then remove the front mounts. You have to lift up before you come forward. Removing the exhaust manifolds first makes it easier to work around the motor.

Guy, you mean a 351? He has a ford.
