"Hi Guys,
I have just joined this site, greetings from the U.K.
I would be grateful if anyone could help with the above on Suzuki dt25c. I have an ignition timing switch on ?1989-1998 engine and would like to know what position this should be in for best starting.
Sometimes this engine will start first turn of starter motor or pull cord, other times it will not start at all, I have put in new plugs.
Also I recently fitted it with electric start, the solanoid had a 20 amp fuse, it started a few times then fuse blew. I have been told that it should not have a fuse.
Before I fitted the solanoid I tested the starter with jump leads to positive and earth several times and it started really well.
I had to replace the earth lead from starter to battery as it nearly melted at one point, I have now used professional P.A./speaker wire throughout.
I would really appreciate your help with this.
Thanks
Gerry
P.S. I have looked through the forum but cannot find anything similar."
